Bose QuietComfort 35 I / II
Bose QC35 Left Metal Swivel Hinge Replacement
Left-cup metal swivel on QC35 I and II. Pad, mesh, cover screws, then the hinge that the cable has to pass through. Same family as the XM4 job, different fasteners.
Before you start
- Left and right hinges are not the same part.
- The driver magnet will eat dropped screws. Work over a towel.
- QC35 II shares the hinge with I on this side — still match the finish (black/silver).

Pad and mesh off the left cup
Peel the pad from the inner lip. Lift the mesh. Two cover screws are now visible. Catch them — they love the magnet.
- 02
Open the cover
Back the two screws out and lift the cover just enough to see the swivel screw. Do not yank — the cable is still routed.
- 03
Extract the swivel
Remove the hinge screw, then slide the swivel off while feeding the cable. Photograph the route.
- 04
Thread the replacement
Cable through the new swivel the same way, seat, screw. Rotate the cup. The wire should not twist.
- 05
Close and listen
Cover, mesh, pad. Play a mono test in the left cup while folding. Any crackle is a pinched lead — reopen now.
